Any planned or unplanned works within areas managed by Lugano Airport (airside and
landside) require an Airport Working Authorization (AWA).
The Working Permit Request form must be completed in full and sent to
safety@luganoairport.ch at least five working days before the planned start of the
works.

On the basis of OS 13.01, Lugano Airport defines the applicable safety and security measures
and, where necessary, may request additional documentation (e.g. drawings, photos). The
approved permit must be available on site for the entire duration of the works.

Italian and English versions of the form can be downloaded from this section.

Reporting safety-related events in ground operations is done through the Ground Safety
Report (GSR), a key element of the Safety Management System (SMS) at Lugano Airport.
The GSR enables continuous monitoring of safety standards in the airport environment.

The Ground Safety Report is an essential tool providing the Safety Manager with information
on hazards, near misses, incidents and any malfunction of systems or procedures. By
processing and analysing the reports received, the Safety Manager can assess airport safety
performance and obtain continuous feedback on the effectiveness of the safety system.

All personnel working airside are required to submit a GSR whenever a safety-relevant event
occurs (incident, serious incident, near miss, potentially dangerous situation or safety
improvement proposal).

How to submit a report

1. Download the “Ground Safety Report – Form 02.01” from this section of the website.

3. Send the completed form as soon as possible to: safety@luganoairport.ch.
